They know what to look for and where to look in order to find conditions conducive to mold growth.
How Do You Know Which Company To Choose?
Always ask if they are certified. This means they have been to some sort of school training. Also, it is very important that you choose a company in that only does mold testing and mold inspection, not mold clean up, or mold removal. It is a conflict of interest when one company does both mold testing and mold remediation. This means they could easily tell you that the test results came back elevated and you are going to need remediation. At that point they will start the mold clean up which makes them a lot more money. After the work is finished they test again and tell you everything looks good so they can get paid and leave. The problem here of course is, in a short time after they leave, you will find out if the work was done correctly or not. Unfortunately, you may find out the hard way. The proper procedure is to:
• Hire a company that only does mold testing and mold inspection.
• Wait for the results and see if you have toxic mold.
• If you do find toxic mold, hire a mold remediation company to come in and do the necessary removal.
• After the mold removal is completed, have your mold testing company do post testing. If you have clear results this time, your testing company will be able to issue a clean bill of health. If not, the remediation company will have to come in and finish their job.
